Introduction

Dear Citizens

 GREETING

⠀In the 1980s, there was a desire for knowledge of the humanities on the university campuses. Keimyung University responded to the demand by offering weekly philosophy seminars titled "Mogyo Philosophy Seminars." For the past 30 years, the seminars have been held on campus, but due to popular demand, "Mogyo Philosophy" has become the trade mark to which world-known scholars responded with enthusiasm. As a discipline of study, philosophy was leading the way and humanities and social science embraced it, and art was not left out. Since the 1980s Korean society has gone through its ups and downs, through which it became matured, acquiring the value of being a man and of freedom as well.

⠀Facing the reality that the boundaries between universities and society, Korea and the world are being destroyed now and even boundaries among disciplines of study have disappeared, Thursday Philosophy Seminars are divided into three divisions - "The humanities Forum for the citizens," "Philosophy for university students" and the philosophy and humanities class for Juveniles. We have shown our persistence in the revolution from intellectual and independent self-assertion to social practicality.

⠀Thus, Thursday Philosophy Humanities Forums are not only for university students, but also they will bear fruit in the social networks as they are open to everyone as we live in a global village. In the open space of Thursday Philosophy Seminars, people's ideas, disciplines of study, assertions, and criticisms are welcome. This is an open and matured society of culture. Thursday Philosophy Humanities Forum has settled in the heart of Taegu physically, but the Forum will be opened to Korea and to the world on the digital networks.

⠀Though "Thursday Philosophy of Humanities Forum" started in Taegu to begin with, now the Forum is opened to Korea at large and is on the digital networks of the world. The slogan "Thursday Philosophy Seminars are in Taegu" is our pride, but we still have our motto, "Frugal but not shabby, brilliant but not luxurious."

⠀We extend our gratitude to every one who wishes to participate.
